This year, in my introduction to the visual arts class, we have learned many new types of art as well as many new techniques. This was one example of somthing I made. We were given objects to look at with a light source and were told to sketch what we see using different types of charcoal. I started by drawing what I saw, followed by filling in the light sources with white and “blending” and “shading” with the charcoal. Then I filled in the background to make it look like the objects are sitting on a table.
